The Pittsburgh Steelers have not looked like the same team that got off to such a hot start at the beginning of the season. The Steelers have been badly outclassed in each of its three consecutive losses.
Many fans expected that veteran quarterback Russell Wilson would provide the answers the Steelers needed after two rough seasons behind the arms of quarterbacks Kenny Pickett and Mitchell Trubiskey.
Unfortunately for Steelers fans, a look at the numbers reveals that somehow the offense has been even worse at putting points on the board this season.
“Steelers’ offense in the red zone (rank): 2022: 51.9% (23rd) 2023: 47.6% (27th) 2024: 46.3% (31st) Even when things change, it somehow finds a way to get worse,” revealed Daniel Valente on Twitter.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“It amazes me how you guys literally never consider hey maybe we need better players. With all of the talent that’s been on this team the past 25+ years, you guys never come to that conclusion,” one Steelers fan wrote on Twitter.
“Hard to improve red zone proficiency when you spend all your money on defense,” added another fan.
“We had more than 1 capable WR in 22 and 23. I’m not sure why Mike Williams isn’t getting more targets at this point. He could take pressure off GP,” added one fan.
“There’s always a scapegoat, but the one constant is Tomlin. There doesn’t seem to be much of a difference in style or play calling from one coordinator to the next. Do the math,” one fan added.
The Steelers are running out of time to sort out their offensive issues.
