It seems as if the Pittsburgh Steelers have had a storm cloud hovering over them this NFL offseason. Pittsburgh lost both of its starting quarterbacks to the New York teams, with Justin Fields landing with the New York Jets and Russell Wilson signing with the New York Giants.
The Steelers have been linked throughout the offseason to veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but a deal still doesn’t appear imminent at the moment. It would appear as if the slow-moving offseason has been noted by the players inside the Steelers’ locker room.
“Tom Pelissero says he has heard others within the Steelers Locker Room are feeling frustrated with the offseason: ‘From everything I’ve been told, is not solely to Cam Heyward. There are other people, certainly in the organization, the locker room, who are just going like, “What are we doing? We’re back for offseason workouts in 10 days. We’re coming up on the draft. What is the plan?”‘” reported Steelers Depot.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“I’m guessing they’re going to draft a qb and probably have a handshake deal with Rodgers. If not they’re one of the worst organizations right now,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Fellas, the plan is to win 7-8 games and draft the 4th or 5th best quarterback next year, depending on whoever is available basically. It’s a C- plan but thats a drastic improvement over any plan of the last 6 years,” one Steelers fan added.
“So players who haven’t won a damn thing are complaining, when they should be taking long hard looks in the mirror asking themselves what can they do to improve themselves,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Steelers make a splashy move to keep the locker room satisfied.
