The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking to end their drought of playoff wins before it reaches a decade. As Pittsburgh pursues that ever-elusive playoff win, the Steelers underwent one of the busiest offseasons across the league.
One of the biggest moves the Steelers made was adding four-time MVP winner Aaron Rodgers. While Rodgers was impressive in Week One against the New York Jets, his previous team, throwing for four touchdowns and no interceptions in a 34-32 win.
While Rodgers turned back the clock, health is never guaranteed in the NFL, and the Steelers have been forced to replace one of the quarterbacks behind Rodgers on the depth chart, which could have serious implications should Rodgers go down with injury, which is always a possibilty considering that Rodgers is over 40 years old.
“Steelers roster moves today: Signed S Jabrill Peppers to a one-year contract. Signed CB James Pierre from the Practice Squad to the Active Roster. Signed QB Logan Woodside to the Practice Squad. Placed LB Malik Harrison and QB Skylar Thompson on injured reserve,” reported ESPN’s Senior NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Fans raected on soical media to the roster moves.
“How does one get injured holding a clipboard? Interesting,” one fan wrote on Twitter of Thompson.
“steelers juggling bodies like caiaphas swapping witnesses till the trial sticks,” another fan added.
“Love the Jabrill Peppers signing for that defense,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see how the moves work out for Pittsburgh.
