The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking to land another major body blow to one of their rivals in the AFC North. After defeating the Cleveland Browns in Week Six, Pittsburgh is looking to take down the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night.
Unfortunately, one of their most important pieces is going through some personal matters and is now at risk of not being able to participate in Thursday night’s action, according to one prominent league insider.
“Steelers S DeShon Elliott will not travel with the team today to Cincinnati but remains questionable (NIR/Personal) for Thursday night’s game vs. the Bengals,” reported Burt Lauten on Wednesday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Hope he’s okay. Man what a massive blow this would be to the secondary especially against (the Bengals),” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“This is a huge blow. Just got the defense all together. He is a catalyst,” another fan added.
“The Steelers always have some kind of chaos. Every year,” someone else added.
Hopefully, Elliott is okay and manages to work through whatever he’s dealing with and prioritizes that before rushing back to the field. The Steelers have been one of the best teams in the AFC, and if Elliott is unable to play, they should have more than enough capable players to fill in.
