The Seattle Seahawks learned they would not be without one of their star players this coming season. Safety Jamal Adams, who the team acquired in a big trade a few seasons ago, passed his physical Thursday. That news gives way to his eventual activation, meaning he’ll return to the Seahawks lineup imminently.
The Seahawks’ PR account made the big announcement. “SS Jamal Adams has passed his physical,” they said.
Adams, a former Top 5 pick, will re-join the Seahawks at a time where the team is looking to make another step forward. They surprised many around the NFL last season with a surprisingly good season. Led by the play of Geno Smith and talented rookies on the defensive side of the ball, Seattle made the postseason against all odds. They fell to division rival San Francisco, but the team appears poised to compete again this year.
In six seasons in the NFL, Adams has logged 71 games played. He’s amassed 446 combined tackles, 328 of them solo. He’s recorded 43 TFL, and it doesn’t stop there. Adams has 34 career passes defended, seven forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and four interceptions. In addition, the former LSU Tigers standout has 21.5 career sacks. He had 9.5, a career-high mark, in the 2020 season.
The NFL world had a lot to say after the Seahawks made their massive announcement.
