The Seattle Seahawks battled off both the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams to not only secure the NFC West title, but also lock down the number one overall seed in the NFC.

After being awarded the bye week that comes with the one seed, Seattle will make its postseason debut on Saturday against the same Niners they played to cap off the regular season. Unfortunately, Seattle may have to make do without its quarterback, Sam Darnold.

“The Seahawks list QB Sam Darnold as questionable for their playoff game Saturday vs. the 49ers due to an oblique injury,” reported ESPN’s Brady Henderson on Thursday.

Darnold spoke with media members after practice and confirmed that he felt something tweak and also detailed what he expects his availability to be for Saturday’s game against the Niners.

“Sam Darnold told reporters after practice that he felt something in his side while throwing on air. Asked what percentage he may not play: ‘Very low percentage. Closer to zero,'” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Bad spot to be in

Fans reacted to the brutal development on social media.

“He says closer to zero but we all know how this ends. seatle fans better get ready for the backup just in case,” someone else added.

“Should players ever be trusted when they say “very low percentage” about missing games?” someone else wanted to know.

“Seriously, the panic over a player saying he ‘felt something’ then immediately clarifying he’s ‘good to go’ / ‘closer to zero’ is wild. It’s playoff week, so every little thing gets blown way up. He’s playing. Stop with the excuses or backup fantasies,” one fan added.

Even if Darnold is able to go, it’ll be interesting to see if his movement is limited.
