The New Orleans Saints are having a brutal start to their season. New Orleans is 1-6, and starting quarterback Spencer Rattler has not looked like an NFL-quality pass thrower, throwing three interceptions in the team’s loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
It’s going to be even harder for Rattler and the Saints to get things turned around, as one of the most important pieces in the backfield is done for the season after suffering a torn ACL, according to one prominent league insider.
“Sources: #SaintsRB Kendre Miller tore his ACL on Sunday and will miss the remainder of the season. A tough blow for Miller, who was starting to carve out a role in the offense with 193 rushing yards and 1 TD on the year,” Jordan Schultz reported on Twitter on Monday.
Rattler and the offense had another season-ending injury confirmed on Monday.
“Saints C Erik McCoy is believed to have suffered a torn biceps, an injury knocks him out for the season, per me and (Mike Garafolo). One of the NFL’s best, McCoy also played seven games last season because of an injury, as well,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.
Fans reacted to the brutal breaks on social media.
“Damn tough blow for him and the Saints it gets worse and worse week by week,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Kendre Miller’s career has been rough. Since 2023 he has played in only 21 of 51 games, missing nearly 60 percent of his career to injuries or IR. Now a torn ACL ends his 2025 season. Brutal,” another fan added.
“The second he gets near Dennis Allen again he suffers his worst injury yet smh. This sucks Kendre was playing the best ball of his career and was outplaying Kamara as a runner,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see where the Saints go from here.
