New Orleans Saints star Chris Olave was arrested on Monday night for reckless operation of a motor vehicle. And it appears that he tried to use his status as an NFL player to get out of the incident, which fans certainly took notice of.
Olave was allegedly arrested after going 35 mph over the speed limit late Monday night. According to reports, he was going 70 mph in a 35 mph zone.
The arrest was made by a police officer in Kenner, Louisiana. Kenner is only 15 minutes outside of downtown New Orleans, obviously an area where there are some diehard Saints fans.
However, this officer wasn’t in the mood to bend the law for a Saints player, which was shown on a bodycam video of the incident released by the Kenner Police Department.
“Does this mean I’m under arrest,” said Olave as the officer began to walk him over to his car. “My bad dog, I play for the Saints.”
The cop hilarious answered Olave by saying “So?” when the star wide receiver name-dropped his occupation.
Olave obviously didn’t outright ask the cop to let him go because he played for the Saints. But most fans who saw this video seem to believe that this is what he was implying.

Never a good sign when you hear the “I play for the ___” line come out. https://t.co/7W1Y1hk2Jv

Luckily nobody was harmed in the incident, so it should be a somewhat minor charge for him. However, it certainly isn’t a good thing to be arrested in the first place. And to name-drop the Saints to the officer gives off an entitled vibe that fans are quickly picking up on.
