After Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury four snaps into his New York Jets career, Gang Green finds itself in need of a quarterback.
And despite spending most of his career with the New England Patriots, Rob Gronkowski has just the man for his former rivals.
Appearing on Up & Adams on Wednesday, the former All-Pro tight end discussed the state of the Minnesota Vikings. And while he believes the Vikings will get their first win of the season on Sunday when they face the Carolina Panthers, if they don’t, Gronkowski says that Minnesota should trade Cousins to the Jets.
“If for some reason the Vikings lose, Kirk Cousins should be shipped out, 100 percent. And he should be shipped out to the New York Jets,” Gronkowski told host Kay Adams. “And why I think that makes sense is it’s the last year on his contract. Yes, you’re going to get Aaron Rodgers back next year with the Jets, but they need a fix at the quarterback position this year if they want to win some games and it makes sense having [Cousins’] contract expire after this year. He needs to be shipped to the Jets. It would make them competitive. It would be fun to watch again.”
