The Dallas Cowboys are having one of the more disappointing off-seasons in the NFL if you were to ask their fans. After a season where the Cowboys missed out on the playoffs entirely, many expected Dallas to be aggressive this offseason.
Instead, Dallas has elected to add depth rather than make the sort of splash signings fans were looking for. On Wednesday, it was reported that Dallas was losing a franchise cornerstone to the Seahawks.
“Breaking: #Cowboys four-time Pro Bowl DE DeMarcus Lawrence has reached agreement on a deal with the #Seahawks, per his agency,” FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz reported.
As if that massive loss wasn’t enough, Cowboys fans got even more tough news on Wednesday.
“The #Panthers have agreed to a 1-year deal with RB Rico Dowdle, per league source,” reported Carolina Panthers reporter Mike Kaye.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“In a weak RB room, he made sure to stand out in Dallas. Good pick up for the Panthers,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“The cowboys not being able to afford even Dowdle is craaaaazy,” another fan added.
“Dowdle leaving Dallas is a loss for the Cowboys, but a big win for the Panthers. He’s got potential to be a key piece for them,” someone else wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Cowboys account for Dowdle’s loss.
