Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is dealing with an injury after their Week 8 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. And unfortunately, it seems like another quarterback, rookie Stetson Bennett, will not be around to play if Stafford is held out from the injury.
Bennett is best well known for his time in college, helping the Georgia Bulldogs win back-to-back National Championships the past two seasons. This led to him being selected by the Rams in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, despite some off-field questions surrounding him.
Bennett has been away from the team after being placed on the non-football injury list with an unknown issue. The Rams have still not revealed what exactly Bennett is dealing with at the moment. But we now know whatever it is will likely hold him out for the rest of the season.
According to Greg Beacham of The Associated Press, Bennett is “doing well”. However, Rams head coach Sean McVay says that Bennett will likely not be back with the team this season.
Bennett still has plenty of fans from his college days at Georgia, so plenty took to social media to express their disappointment after this news.
Hopefully whatever Bennett is going through isn’t affecting his personal life. But at this point, it is looking like the Rams may have wasted a pick on Bennett if he isn’t able to return at all for the Rams.
