The Las Vegas Raiders are not having the sort of season they envisioned under the leadership of Tom Brady and Pete Carroll. The Raiders are tied for the second-worst record in the league at 1-4.

Quarterback Geno Smith, whom Las Vegas traded with the Seattle Seahawks to acquire, is having a disastrous go of things when it comes to throwing interceptions. Unfortunately, things don’t look like they’re about to get any easier for Smith, as one of his top targets is tracking to miss this weekend’s game, according to one prominent league insider.

“Raiders TE Brock Bowers did not practice today due to his knee injury,” reported ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“I’m starting to think Bowers isn’t even hurt, he just doesn’t wanna play with that bum QB Geno Smiff,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“For the love of God raiders DO NOT LET HIM PLAY THIS WEEK he needs to be 100%,” one Raiders fan added.

“Put the WHOLE team on I.R. I’m not spending another DIME on this team! No jerseys, No game tickets, No merchandise! Until there’s a SIGNIFICANT change,” one particularly frustrated fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Smith and the Raiders can get things turned around.
