The Las Vegas Raiders are still looking to hit their stride in their first season under head coach Pete Carroll, who ended a brief retirement from NFL sidelines to lead Las Vegas. However, Carroll’s first season in the desert hasn’t been smooth sailing thus far.

The Raiders and quarterback Geno Smith, who also joined Las Vegas this past offseason after being traded by the Seattle Seahawks, are 1-3 to start the season. Unfortunately, it’s looking like it will be harder for Smith and Carroll to get their second win of the season than they originally anticipated, with one of Smith’s top weapons reduced to being a limited participant at practice, according to one prominentent league insider.

“Raiders TE Brock Bowers, who was a limited practice participant Wednesday due to a knee injury, didn’t practice today,” ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on Twitter on Thursday.

Fans reacted to the development on social media.

“Raiders losing their golden boy at a vital time. Bowers put up 179 yards in 4 games, but that knee’s been dodgy since that Patriots hit. Colts clash looking dicey with him missing Thursday’s session,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Just sit him the rest of the season The only way Geno will throw him the ball anyways is if you tell him Bowers is on the other team,” one fan added.

“Trade him and Crosby where their careers aren’t wasted,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Raiders replace Purdy’s production if he can’t go this week.
