While the New York Jets and their fanbase have plenty to celebrate as the team enters the 2023 NFL season after the team added star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, it looks like the team could be facing a pretty tough situation with one of the top players on the defensive side of the ball as a recent move from star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams suggests he is not happy.

On Monday afternoon, NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk pointed out that Quinnen Williams had removed all mention of the New York Jets from the bio on his Twitter account. This move comes as Williams and the Jets were reportedly “not close” to a contract extension for the star defensive tackle.

“Williams has removed any reference to the Jets from his Twitter page. After the title “Defensive Tackle for,” there is now a stream of periods,” Florio wrote for Pro Football Talk on Monday. “The move comes at a time when Williams is boycotting voluntary offseason workouts as he tries to get a new deal. Recent reports have suggested that a major gap remains between the parties’ positions.”

It’s a pretty brutal update for the New York Jets, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

It will certainly be interesting to see whether or not Williams and the Jets are able to make amends.
