All throughout the week, the NFL world has been praising the heroic actions of the Buffalo Bills athletic training staff who quite literally saved the life of Bills safety Damar Hamlin by administering emergency CPR on the field. A Buffalo player even rewarded assistant athletic trainer Denny Kellington his touchdown ball for his heroism. For that reason, there may not have been a worse week for Green Bay Packers linebacker Quay Walker to shove a member of the Detroit Lions training staff. But following the incident, he feels remorse.

On Monday morning, Quay Walker addressed his shocking actions with a statement on his Twitter account.

“I want to apologize publicly about what happened Sunday night,” Walker wrote on Twitter. “I reacted off of my emotions again and take full responsibility of making another stupid decision. Since then I’ve questioned myself on why did I do what I did when the trainer was doing his job!! I was wrong!! I understand I have to face everything that comes with the decision I’ve made and I’m definitely paying for it now. Also to explain my frustration in the tunnel. I wasn’t upset about being kicked out, I just knew I messed up again and was wrong for what I did and couldn’t believe I did it again. To the Detroit lions and to the entire training staff including the person I did that too.I’m sorry.”

The apology is a nice gesture, but the NFL world will undoubtedly want to see a change in his actions as this is the second time he’s shoved someone in street clothes during a game.
