Will Levis became a forgotten man during the NFL Draft.
The Kentucky Wildcats quarterback had been widely projected as a top-five pick. Even analysts who were not as high on his potential had him going by the middle of the first round.
Quarterbacks were selected with three of the first four picks. Bryce Young went first to the Carolina Panthers, followed by the Houston Texans picking C.J. Stroud No. 2.
The Indianapolis Colts had been viewed as a favorite to pick Levis at No. 4, but they instead selected Florida Gators QB Anthony Richardson.
So Levis’ descent in the draft began. Picks came and went, and no other quarterbacks were selected. As the first round dragged on, Levis waited. And the NFL world watched him wait.
ESPN had estimated Levis had a 92% chance of being picked in the top 10.
Instead, the first round ended, and Levis remained undrafted.
Near the end of the first round, ESPN reported on Levis’ situation, with a reporter saying one team thought that Levis came off as “cocky” in interviews. Another team said, “His tape was not that good.”
The NFL world was surprised Levis fell so far. Some fans expressed sympathy, while others fired off some brutal memes.
