The Cincinnati Bengals made the shocking move to make an intradivision trade with the Cleveland Browns to acquire their new starting quarterback, veteran Joe Flacco, whom the Browns had benched in favor of rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel.
Now, Flacco is in line to start for the Bengals on Sunday against the lethal pass rush of the Green Bay Packers. It’s a tall ask for Flacco, and he’ll need every second of practice he can get between now and Sunday.
However, the Bengals have a rather unique situation that led to Flacco needing a street officer to keep him from getting struck by traffic on his way to practice for Cincinnati, as noted by one Twitter user.
“(Will) never not laugh about Bengals not building a walkway over this street so the Bengals walk on the road to get to practice,” the user tweeted in response to a photo of Flacco on his way to practice while an officer made sure to hold up traffic so he could reach the facility.
Fans reacted to the situation on social media.
“Bruh. All it takes is one drunk a**hole. Someone needs to file a player safety complaint,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“To be fair I’d rather walk all the roads in Cincinnati over stepping foot anywhere in Cleveland,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see how Flacco’s debut for the Bengals goes on Saturday.
