The Pittsburgh Steelers traded with the Seattle Seahawks to acquire star wide receiver DK Metcalf this offseason. However, not long after the trade for Metcalf, Pittsburgh dished its incumbent star receiver, George Pickens, to the Dallas Cowboys to recoup draft capital.

There’s been a major question mark surrounding the Steelers’ WR2 spot since the trade, and while Calvin Austin III played well in the season-opening win against the New York Jets, the franchise is still likely to look for an upgrade at the position over the course of the season.

Now, one name in particular is emerging as a leading candidate to fill the role.

“There’s already chatter, in the aftermath of Sunday’s win over the Jets, that the all-in Steelers could go even more all-in by making a move for Hill. Yes, Pittsburgh already has receiver DK Metcalf, who’s making $30 million per year on a five-year deal. But the Steelers don’t have a clear cut No. 2. Hill would be 1b (if not, at times, 1a) to Metcalf,” reported Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“I think he’s burned out dude what’s the problem with Miami? I think Tyreek Is over the hill,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Has anyone considered that he’s just washed? He hasn’t looked good in two years. Why would any team but the chiefs, now desperate for a WR, give up anything for a washed player?” someone else added.

“Been saying the dolphins need to start over. Trade hill abd waddle, cut Tua, take the cap hit. Fire McDaniels and start from scratch,” one fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see what the season has in store for Hill.
