The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking for their first playoff win since 2016. Earlier this season, four-time league MVP Aaron Rodgers seemed like the right guy to get the job done. Unfortunately, things are trending in the wrong direction.

Pittsburgh is 1-3 over their last four games, and the last one, a 25-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, was Rodgers’ worst performance of the season by far. After the veteran barely completed 50% of his passes and was sacked three times, the Steelers have decided to make some changes in the position room.

On Wednesday, the franchise announced that it was activating rookie Will Howard to the active roster.

“We have activated QB Will Howard to the Active Roster from the Reserve/Injured List,” the Steeles reported from their official Twitter account.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“If we lose the next couple games and go below .500 then start giving him some snaps. He doesn’t have to start, but let him feel the speed of an NFL game before we ask him to carry this [expletive] franchise,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Start him next year don’t even draft a rookie anywhere in this upcoming draft no need,” someone else added.

“I hope Howard becomes the franchise QB only for the Steeler fans who are ignorant,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Pittsburgh moves to Howard as the starter this season.
