The Pittsburgh Steelers are the top team in the AFC North behind what has been nothing short of a resurgent season for four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers, who is in his first season in Pittsburgh following two dissapointing years with the Jets.

After signing with the Steelers just in time for the start of mandatory minicamp over the offseason, Rodgers made it clear that he expects this to be his last season in the league. However, after such an incredible start to the season, the Steelers could all of a sudden look to bring him back for another year, according to one prominent team league insider.

“The Steelers will scour the draft market for the QB of the future, for sure. They are already doing so. But if you ask people with the team whether they’d entertain the notion of Rodgers in the black-and-gold in 2026, the answer would be a resounding yes. He has maintained his elite ability to throw the football.

Now, it’s a long season, Rodgers is 41 and what he does next year is anyone’s guess. I certainly don’t think any sweeping determinations have been made. But the marriage has been a successful one for both parties, and perhaps that continues beyond this season,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler wrote.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“He gotta finish out this season first and see if it’s even worth it, he could be like some old guys in the playoffs and choke, or he could regain his spot on the Mt Rushmore with a deep playoff run and maybe run it back,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“I mean, isn’t this common sense? So far he’s led them to a division lead, played solid ball, and made minimal mistakes. Any team would want a QB back who’s helping them win ball games. Especially one who’s in his late years and isn’t looking for a massive contract,” another fan added.

“Well yeah Will Howard sucks and next years draft class doesn’t look as impressive as we thought,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see what Rodgers decides after the season.
