The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to repeat as Super Bowl champions after completely dismantling Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX in February. In fact, with the state of the Chiefs following their loss on Sunday to the Denver Broncos, it’s looking as if the Eagles may have ended Kansas City’s dynasty.
However, the Eagles aren’t exactly setting the world on fire themselves this season. Philadelphia is 8-2 on the season, but it’s been apparent to anyone watching the games that this team isn’t anywhere near as good on the offensive side of the ball.
In fact, reports are coming out that there are members of the Eagles organization who are becoming increasingly fed up with Hurts and his performance up to this point in the season.
“There is a lot of people in that [Eagles) organization that are frustrated with the QB situation…This is almost Carson Wentz part two,” Derrick Gunn reported on The Seth Joyner Show.
Unfortunately for Hurts and the Eagles, things are only getting tougher from here. Hurts’s true strength is his ability to run the ball, especially in short-yardage situations via the tush push.
However, Lane Johnson, arguably the Eagles’ best offensive lineman, is set to miss multiple weeks, per one prominent insider around the league.
“Eagles OT Lane Johnson, one of the game’s best, suffered a Lisfranc sprain Sunday, per me and (Mike Garafolo). He’s out the next 4-6 weeks because of the foot injury, but will seek a second opinion and more tests. This likely lands him on IR, but belief is not season-ending,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

It’ll be interesting to see if Hurts can turn his season around without such a piece so crucial to his success.
