The Philadelphia Eagles are still looking to find the form that allowed them to utterly dominate the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX to finish off last season. So far, star running back Saquon Barkley has been one of the least productive backs in the league, and franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts has struggled passing the ball downfield for the majority of the season.
However, last weekend’s victory over the Minnesota Vikings was a return to form for the Eagles, in some capacity at least. Barkley failed to dominate in the way that fans have become accustomed to over the years, but Hurts had his best passing performance of the season, connecting with wide receiver A.J. Brown for 121 yards and two touchdowns.
Unfortunately, Hurts may have to search elsewhere for his touchdown passes come Sunday, as Brown has been hindered lately by a hamstring injury.
“For a second straight day, Eagles WR A.J. Brown is not practicing due to a hamstring injury,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Thursday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“After saying he’s starting to not care anymore and his most recent IG post. Now missing back to back practices,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Saquons time to turn up right about now,” another fan added.
“2025: the year of the hamstring injuries,” someone else wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see how Hurts looks if Brown is unavailable come Sunday.
