The New England Patriots brought in Mike Vrabel to be the franchise’s new head coach to pair him with young quarterback Drake Maye and instill some of the mentality that has been missing from the organization since the Tom Brady, Bill Belichick days.
The Pats are 1-2 so far through the partnership and while there is still plenty of time to turn the season around, the minds of the players and coaching staff may be elsewhere for the time being.
“Patriots first-year defensive coordinator Terrell Williams has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, coach Mike Vrabel said Friday,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday.
Fans reacted to the horrible news on social media.
“Hearing about Terrell Williams’ diagnosis is tough. Cancer is a hard fight, but with the support of the Patriots and everyone around him, hopefully he’ll come through stronger. Wishing him nothing but the best,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Very good and decent man I’ve heard . Our prayers are with him nlw amd always,” another fan added.
“This is so sad to hear. Hope he pulls through and comes back stronger,” someone else added
Hopefully, Williams is able to make a full recovery and return to the sideline as soon as possible.
