Kyler Murray is finally figuring things out again. He’s not the only one who’s noticed either.
On Sunday, cornerback Patrick Peterson and the Pittsburgh Steelers, will go against his former team, the Arizona Cardinals. That also means a matchup against his former teammate, Arizona quarterback, Kyler Murray.
Peterson has seen what Murray has done since returning from his injury. He spoke highly of his former teammate’s progress.
“It looks like he’s starting to get back in his old ways,” Peterson told ESPN’s Brooke Pryor. “It looks like he’s starting to get back into his groove.”
Murray is just a year removed from tearing his ACL and in three games since making his 2023 debut, he’s tallied 719 yards and two touchdowns.
“He definitely is a unique talent. There’s no question about that,” Peterson added. “He does a great job of creating extra time for his receivers down the field. He does a really, really good job of avoiding those free blitzes.
The two-time Pro Bowl quarterback even said there was a difference in the air alone since his return.
“A lot of people keep saying, ‘Oh he’s a better leader now’ this and that, I just think people. … I don’t want to get too much into it,” Murray said last month following his return. “But the light’s different right now. People around me, teammates, everybody, it’s just a different energy.”
He also said he didn’t feel rusty. He felt confident.
