The Kansas City Chiefs are in the middle of chasing their third consecutive Super Bowl victory. It’s no secret that the nucleus of the emerging dynasty in Kansas City is superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
That’s why all of Kansas City held its breath when Mahomes went down with a high ankle sprain in a victory against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday Now, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has a critical update on Mahomes’ status moving forward.
“Chiefs coach Andy Reid tells reporters that after a full week of practice for QB Patrick Mahomes, “We’ll most likely end up playing him.” Mahomes has a high-ankle sprain. As for Hollywood Brown, who had targeted this week for his debut, Reid said there’s a “good chance,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Thursday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Gonna be really annoying when he takes off on a 22 yard run with a ‘high-ankle sprain,'” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Wow what an amazing recovery after he got hit by a grenade last week!!!!!!” another fan added sarcastically.
“The annual ‘Mahomes has a possible season ending injury but plays through it’ part of the script is here,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Mahomes is hampered by the injury.
