The Carolina Panthers gave up D.J. Moore in a blockbuster trade for the No. 1 overall pick. Now that Moore is with the Chicago Bears, the Panthers need receiving targets for whoever is their quarterback. The team made a major addition as they signed former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen.
Thielen made the announcement uniquely on his Instagram post. His latest story update includes an adorable video of his kids cheering on with the Panthers’ Instagram account mentioned.
Thielen has been nothing if not productive in the last few seasons. He’s scored 30 touchdowns over the past three seasons, including 14 receiving touchdowns in 2020. He has seasons of 74, 67, and 70 receptions in his last three years and 2,367 yards in those last three seasons as well.
Whoever is at quarterback for Carolina, whether it’s C.J. Stroud or Bryce Young presumably, will have a very reliable pass-catcher at their disposal now with this signing. Carolina has been making some big moves lately, both in the coaching staff and player personnel.
Replacing D.J. Moore’s production will be a tall order for anybody as he recorded over 5,000 yards in five seasons with the Panthers. Carolina might not be done either as they wanted to host D.J. Chark, as well.
The NFL world reacted to the big signing on Twitter after the news broke on Sunday night.
