Overseas fans love when they get the rare chance to see their favorite NFL players when the game goes to London. However, Green Bay Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas made it very clear that it is far from his favorite place to play.
Green Bay players were asked about their thoughts on heading to London by Packers beat writer Ryan Wood.
A number of them griped about the travel, but Douglas very clearly had the strongest reaction against heading overseas based on a past experience while he had while a part of the Philadelphia Eagles organization.
“It f***ing sucked. You don’t get to do nothing over there. You just f***ing get on a plane, get over there and f***ing practice, and then you play a game.”
Douglas took part in the one and only game that the Eagles have ever played in London in 2018, where the team beat the Jacksonville Jaguars.
It’s surprising to hear Douglas feel so passionate about the travel annoyance considering the result Philadelphia had in his lone game in London. To be fair, it certainly isn’t the most relaxing week of preparation in London considering the jet lag from the flight, the time zone difference, and the change of surroundings in a different country.
Unfortunately for any other players that don’t like overseas travel, it looks like games outside of the United States are becoming a staple for the NFL. One more game in London is coming this month, followed by games in both Munich and Mexico City in November.
