Aaron Jones wanted to set the record straight Wednesday for anyone wondering how the Green Bay Packers are reacting to new starting quarterback Jordan Love.
Speaking with reporters, the Packers running back praised Love’s progress during offseason workouts. Jones plans to head to California this offseason to work with the new starting QB.
“He’s had time to get comfortable, he’s had time to learn the offense, he’s had time to get that confidence,” Jones said Wednesday (via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic). “That’s one of the reasons I want to go out to California with him, to help get that timing down and get comfortable with him.
“He has everybody’s full trust.”
Jones also commended Love on his positive attitude as he sat on the bench for three seasons watching Aaron Rodgers lead the club. Drafted No. 26 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, Love has thrown only 83 passes in his NFL career. Rodgers’ trade to the New York Jets finally opens the door for him as a starter.
“You never heard one peep out of him,” Jones said (via Packers team writer Wes Hodkiewicz). “We love Jordan here. We’re gonna go lay it on the line for him.”
Packers fans praised Jones for his comments on Love.

It’s like a whole big weight has been lifted off…”out of”…the Packers, and there’s a whole new, refreshing energy! Love it! Going to be an exciting year!
