The New Orleans Saints shut out the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 9-0 on Sunday Night Football at Raymond James Stadium. The Bucs had three injuries to star offensive players that may have played a part in the final score, but it was still a remarkable effort by the New Orleans defense- and a very rough night for Brady and the Tampa Bay offense.
Brady completed 26-of-48 passes for 214 yards (4.8 AVG), zero touchdowns (obviously), and one interception. Cameron Jordan and the New Orleans pass rush wreaked havoc all night, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson had what was essentially a game-sealing interception late in the fourth quarter.
This is the first time that Brady has been shut out in 15 years, and it’s only the third time he’s been shut out in his illustrious career.
New Orleans also beat Brady and the Bucs 36-27 on Halloween, so the Saints sweep the season series.
The Saints improve to 7-7 with the win and find themselves as the final team in the NFC side of the playoffs at the moment. The defending champion Bucs fall to 10-4, but they still have a commanding lead over the Saints in the NFC South.
