The NFL has decided to wait on disciplinary action against Las Vegas Raiders wideout Davante Adams. Last week after their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Adams pushed a photographer down.
The victim decided to file charges against Adams and the case is expected to go to court in November. He faces a city ordinance violation rather than the more serious state misdemeanor assault charge.
This is not unusual for the NFL to wait before disciplining a player. The league is known to wait until an investigation is over before making any major decisions regarding an incident.
This has been the case in past investigations regarding several players, including Deshaun Watson and Alvin Kamara.
Regarding the current case with Adams, unlike Watson and even Kamara, who more than likely will also be punished once the investigation into his assault case is over, Adams may not receive a harsh punishment.
Adams’ case is different from Watson and Kamara’s because the photographer didn’t suffer any major injuries in the incident. The outcome of the legal case also may determine if Adams serves any suspension or just pays a fine.
Whatever the case, the league won’t be making any decisions any time soon and that should be good news for most Raiders fans.
