Earlier this week, the New York Jets and the Green Bay Packers officially came to terms on the blockbuster trade that sent veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the Jets.

Rodgers is obviously now set to become the Jets’ starting quarterback just three years after the team selected Zach Wilson with the No. 2 overall pick, but Jets general manager Joe Douglas seems to think the addition of Rodgers will help Zach Wilson, too.

“I feel like this is going to be a great thing for Zach,” Douglas said in his pre-draft press conference on Tuesday according to Pro Football Talk. “And I spoke to you guys at the combine and Zach’s ceiling is unlimited.

“No one works harder, no one loves ball more than Zach Wilson. And him having the opportunity to really shadow and be with a first-ballot, Hall of Fame quarterback every day, every hour he’s in the building, that’s a great opportunity and a great experience.”

Obviously, Zach Wilson’s NFL career did not get off to the hot start he or the team expected as he was benched last season, but it seems that the team does still have high hopes for him. After all, he still remains on the roster and everyone seems to be talking quite positively about him.
