The New York Giants are confident they have their new franchise quarterback after rookie Jaxson Dart led the team to its first win of the season in his professional debut against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week Four. However, Dart’s second career start might have been a wake up call for the young talent, with the Gians losing to the previously winless New Orleans Saints.

Now, there’s been another brutal update to the young quarterback’s season, with him showing up on Monday’s simulated practice report ahead of New York’s Thursday night game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“GIANTS INJURY REPORT 10/6 (The Giants did not practice on Monday; participation is a projection.) Did Not Participate: LB Swayze Bozeman (Ankle) OT Jermaine Eluemunor (Back) LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (Hamstring) WR Darius Slayton (Hamstring) Limited: S Dane Belton (Shoulder) QB Jaxson Dart (Hamstring) S Jevón Holland (Calf) S Tyler Nubin (Groin) CB Dru Phillips (Hip) RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. (Shoulder),” Dan Salomone reported on Twitter.

Fans reacted to the unfortunate development surrounding Dart on social media.

“Daboll will probably tell him to sit this one out to try and save face,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Yeah, no need to risk him before tougher matchups ahead,” one fan added.

“If he can’t play, they should really give jameis a shot over Russ. This team has lost all faith is Russ. On a short week, it could be good to have a wild slinger like Jameis out there,” another person added.

It’ll be interesting to see how the situation develops over the short week.
