On Sunday afternoon, Cleveland Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett had one of the most dominant defensive performances of the entire season. And he’s being rewarded for it by earning a pretty impressive honor.
On Wednesday afternoon, the NFL named Cleveland Browns superstar defensive end Myles Garrett the AFC Defensive Player of the Week as a result of his absolutely dominant performance against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7.
In the Browns’ thrilling 39-38 win over the Colts, Garrett absolutely stuffed the stat sheet for a defensive player, finishing the game with a pair of strip sacks, a blocked field goal, a pass defense, and nine total tackles.
Those plays had clear and direct impacts on the score of the game as one of the strip sacks was recovered in the end zone for a Cleveland Browns touchdown. The browns also scored a touchdown on offense following the other strip sack and a field goal following the blocked field goal.
Given his dominant showing, it’s a well-deserved honor for the Cleveland Browns star, and the NFL world had a lot to say about the announcement on social media.
Well deserved. Garrett and Hopkins helped win the game for the #Browms. The refs too.

We’ll have to see if Garrett can build on this dominant performance next week.
