The New England Patriots made shockwaves around the NFL when they inked veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs to a three-year deal with $26 million guaranteed despite him coming off of a brutal ACL injury.

However, the Patriots are happy with the signing, and head coach Mike Vrabel discussed how he feels about Diggs this week on Chris Long’s Green Light podcast, according to Pro Football Talk.

“Yeah, just trying to make sure we’re supporting Drake and supporting the football team,” Vrabel said. “And, again, this is a highly competitive, confident receiver that’s produced throughout his career in multiple ways, play-style, right?

“He’s got a play-strength to him that you see that you can play physical. Route craft, good at the catch point, has been good in the red zone. There’s a play-style to him that I’ve always appreciated and that we want to continue to enhance and make sure that he’s doing things to help us.

“But it’s just his conversation, his demeanor, his attitude, and his presence have been great through our conversations. Hopefully, we can continue to add good players.”

Fans reacted to Vrabel’s comments on social media.

“Liking players who are always whining and complaining is a new one,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Must be the part where he gives himself up or goes out of bounds once he makes a catch,” one fan wrote sarcastically.

“His career couldn’t be more over,” another fan wrote.

It’ll be interesting to see what Diggs still has left in the tank, coming off such a serious injury.
