The Miami Dolphins are not having the sort of season they imagined during the offseason. Miami expected to challenge the Buffalo Bills for AFC East supremacy and make a deep playoff run.Instead, Sunday’s loss to the Cleveland Browns dropped Miami to 1-6 on the year, and the Dolphins making the playoffs is becoming harder and harder to envision.
Franchise quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw three interceptions in the loss, leading many to wonder if head coach Mike McDaniel would make a change at the position. Now, McDaniel’s final decision is made, per one prominent insider around the league.
“Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said Tua Tagovailoa is still his starting quarterback,” reported Ari Meirov on Monday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Football gods gonna have to give this franchise and its fans a boost by having someone give Tua that ‘last concussion’ this [expletive] cannot continue man,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“In a perfect world, Mike McDaniel would already be fired, and Quinn Ewers would be Miami’s QB1,” one fan added.
“In a perfect world, the Dolphins would’ve benched Tua, fired McDaniel, fired Grier, and Stephen Ross would be forced to sell the Dolphins. Unfortunately, this is what happens,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting if the Dolphins can get things turned around before it’s too late.
