FOX NFL analyst and Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Tom Brady is having a rough go of things at the moment. For starters, Brady took a lot of heat for his initial decision to keep his rooting interests neutral for Super Bowl LX between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, given the six Super Bowls he won as the Patriots’ quarterback.
Even an old rival of his, Eli Manning, was surprised by his decision.
“I’m a little surprised by that,” Manning said. “For the success he had, the championships, the fact there’s a statue of him… you would think he’d have a little dog in this fight.”
Brady eventually walked back his netrality it made it known that he would always root for Patriots owner Robert Kraft to succeed, but if it’s not one thing, it’s another. Now, it’s being reported that his star player on the Raiders wants nothing to do with the franchise anymore.
“He told Tom Brady he will never play for the Raiders again. That’s a fact. He told them he’ll retire before he ever plays for them again. But I’m not sure they’re actually going to trade him. Myles Garrett said the same thing last year, and we know how that ended up,” reported Jason La Canfora.
Fans reacted to the brutal news on social media.
“Crosby seems like he’d mean it. Garrett is just after money and likes attention,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Nothing money can’t fix if its true. They should trade him for a 2nd 3rd and 5th rd pick. Doubt they’ll get a 1st for him. Unless someone is truly desperate,” someone else added.
“The player that is angry he wasn’t allowed to play through an injury with Raiders is going to force-retire because he doesn’t want to play for Raiders?” one fan added incredulously.
It’ll be interesting to see if Brady can soothe things out between Crosby and the organization.
