Things move pretty fast these days when it comes to Urban Meyer’s reported arguments and incident with Jacksonville Jaguars players.
While a lot of people are focused on the allegations that he kicked the team’s former kicker during warmups, we can’t forget that Meyer reportedly got in a heated argument with wide receiver Marvin Jones. The reported argument, which Meyer has denied, led Jones to leave the team facilities, though he was coaxed back by other team staff.
Jones was asked about the alleged incident on Wednesday and appeared to confirm that there was indeed a disagreement between them and that it involved criticism leveled at Jacksonville’s wide receiver corp.
“I would just say this: there was something that was brought to my attention that I didn’t like too much,” Jones said Wednesday, via John Shipley of Jaguar Report. “I approached him about it, and we talked and we handled it like grown men. That’s all I have to say about that.”
Meyer had made it clear what he thinks about members of the Jaguars talking out of turn to the media, something that team owner Shad Khan has backed up, so don’t expect Jones to say too much more so long as he’s a member of the team.
But between Jones confirming that the argument took place, coupled with Meyer confirming that he is “demanding” of his coaches and the other reports surrounding Meyer, it’s hard not to see how the situation in Jacksonville gets better before it gets worse.
