Over the years, EA Sports Madden NFL football video game has led to a lot of frustration among its players over the years and the game recently made headlines in the wrong way when many Madden 23 players lost their Connected Franchise save due to an update that went wrong. And it looks like Madden is taking notice of the criticism and wants to do better.
According to a report from Insider Gaming, EA Sports sees the upcoming Madden 24 video game as a “make or break” release for the game after all the criticism. EA Sports has already given a 50% discount to any player that lost their Connected Franchise. But apparently, that’s “only the beginning” of how Madden plans to win back its fans.
“The discount for players who lost their franchise is only the beginning,” one close to the game’s development told Insider Gaming. “EA has big plans for Madden 24 and the management of the game knows how big of a year it is. Not just for the game, but for their future in their positions.”
It’s pretty big news after the criticism the game has received over the years and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.
“find a way to make it like them old NCAA games and I’d play it all day, everyday,” streamer Darius Snow said.
“Nice of them to finally acknowledge the same complaints people have been making for 10 years now,” reporter Ned Balme said.
“EA sports copies and pastes their Madden template for years, and now it’s ‘make or break’. It’s time for 2K to get the rights back, and for EA to crank out another NCAA College Football game,” one fan said.
We’ll have to see if these changes actually improve the game.
