Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff came into Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks approaching NFL history for consecutive passes without an interception. That unfortunately came to an abrupt end when he threw a brutal interception that certainly hurt his teams’ chances of winning.
Goff came into the game with 359 consecutive pass attempts without an interception. The streak dated all the way back to Week 8 of the 2022 season.
It took until the fourth quarter, but Goff’s streak ultimately came to an end when he threw a pass behind rookie running back Jamhyr Gibbs. Seahawks cornerback Tre Brown was able to take advantage of the mistake, picking off Goff and returning it all the way back for a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown.
It is obviously a rough way for such a great streak to end. And fans criticized Goff for such a brutal mistake.

Goff’s streak officially ends at 383 pass attempts without an interception, which ranks only behind Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers in NFL history.
Unfortunately, this mistake from Goff ended up being the difference in the game against the Seahawks. The Lions would go on to come from behind to force overtime but did end up losing in overtime after Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith found Tyler Lockett for a six-yard touchdown to win the game.
With this loss, the Lions drop to 1-1, and Goff will now need to start another interception-less streak moving forward.
