The Detroit Lions have emerged as a perennial force in the NFC under bold head coach Dan Campbell. Last season, the Lions were derailed by an unfathomable amount of injuries to key players, especially on the defensive side of the ball, but Campbell still managed to lead them to the number one overall seed in the NFC.
The Lions are hopeful that their injury luck won’t be quite so poor this year, but even if that proves true, injuries are an unfortunate reality of the sport, and no team can avoid them completely. Now, one of Detroit’s most important pieces on offense has popped up on the injury report, with a wrist injury.
“St. Brown did not take part in practice due to a wrist injury. It’s a new injury for St. Brown, who has 35 catches for 406 yards and a league-high six touchdowns through the first five weeks of the season,” reported Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“with amon-ra out, goff’s gonna be slinging it to laporta and williams like they’re his only lifelines in this betting circus. prime targets incoming,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Rest and time to recover may do him good. You can’t rush these things. Long season ahead!” someone else added.
“He better play,” someoe else added.
It’ll be intersting to see if St. Brown can get back in time to face the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend.
