The Las Vegas Raiders underwent a bit of an overhaul this offseason. Las Vegas brought in Pete Carroll to serve as the franchise’s new head coach after a brief retirement, and then with the Seattle Seahawks for quarterback Geno Smith, who was the last starting quarterback that Smith worked with before he took a break from coaching.
Unfortunately, the move has not panned out well for the Raiders. Smith has thrown a staggering amount of interceptions through the first five games of the season, and the Raiders have found themselves sitting at 1-4 on the year.
Now, there’s been an awful injury development that’s going to make things even more difficult for Smith moving forward.
“Raiders TE Brock Bowers did not practice today due to his knee injury,” reported ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter on Twitter on Wednesday.
Fans reacted to the brutal injury development on social media.
“Put him on injured reserve. Let’s start scouting players eligible for this year’s draft,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“I’m guessing we won’t see Brock Bowers again until after the Raiders’ Week 8 bye. Rest up, and help us win some fantasy football leagues over the second half of the season,” someone else added.
“So he’s probably not going to play but we’ll find out tomorrow,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Bowers ends up missing significant time with the injury.
