For many, the interception that Washington Football Team safety Landon Collins made Tuesday against the Philadelphia Eagles looked like an incomplete pass at first. In fact, Philadelphia even tried to get their punt team out there following the play. But further reviews revealed that the pass in question deflected off the heel of Eagles’ tight end Dallas Goedert and didn’t hit the ground before Collins (seen above with a fan after last week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys) grabbed it. Here’s a look at that:
That’s certainly one of the more unusual picks in a while, clocking right in with things like the Grey Cup-ending interception that bounced off two defenders before finding a third:

Collins also wound up recovering a fumble later:
On Friday, this game was rescheduled from Sunday to Tuesday over positive COVID tests within Washington’s team. And they even wound up starting QB Garrett Gilbert (who only signed with the team Friday) thanks to starter Taylor Heinicke and backup Kyle Allen being on the reserve/COVID-19 list. But Washington has hung in there so far, leading 10-0 with 2:30 left in the first quarter. And this surprising interception from Collins was part of that.
