The NFL world mourned the loss of former running back Alex Collins who died on Monday in a motorcycle accident.
He spent two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, so quarterback Lamar Jackson wanted to pay his respects to him and his family calling him a great guy and teammate.
“AC, that’s my boy,” Jackson said via Pro Football Talk. “He was here my rookie year, we were always chatting, playing around in the locker room. Great energy, great guy to be around. Sorry for the loss, especially to his family, because he was a great guy.”
The Ravens also sent out their support and passed along a note on Twitter.
“With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Alex Collins,” the Ravens said. “Always quick to greet everyone with a smile, he was a genuinely kind person who carried a special joy and passion wherever he went. May Alex be remembered for the light and love he brought to so many people in his life.”
Collins was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2016 Draft. He spent three seasons with the team before his last year in 2021.
They also sent out their condolences saying the team is “Absolutely heartbroken. Prayers are with the Collins family.”
Collins was 28.
