The Lamar Jackson saga continues to fascinate the NFL world. On Thursday, the NFL management council sent out a memo warning teams not to negotiate with a man named Ken Francis on behalf of the Baltimore Ravens quarterback. Francis is not a certified NFLPA agent.
“Violation of this rule may result in disapproval of any Offer Sheet or resulting Player Contract entered into by Mr. Jackson and the new Club,” read the memo.
While both Jackson and Francis have since vehemently denied the bizarre memo, they happen to be business partners. Yes, you read that correctly. Shortly after the NFL released the memo, the former MVP took to Twitter to announce that he and his business partner, Ken Francis, would be dropping something called “The Entire Gym” this summer.
Jackson released a 35-second commercial that displayed an outdoor gym or home fitness equipment being utilized on the go. It quite literally appears to be a gym in a suitcase.
“Combining outdoor training and a portable gym maximizes time and workout teams,” Jackson’s commercial states. “With over 250-plus workout routines, The Entire Gym brings you the flexibility to work out anywhere, anytime.”
Right now, it appears that Jackson has yet to publicly negotiate an offer sheet with any of the remaining 31 NFL teams not named the Baltimore Ravens. Regardless of whether Francis has negotiated on his behalf or not, Jackson used Thursday’s memo as an opportunity to launch a marketing campaign. Perhaps he doesn’t need an agent after all.
