Throughout his NFL career and his notorious contract negotiations with the Baltimore Ravens, he has been quite insistent about representing himself without the help of a sports agent. But it appears that Jackson might have changed his mind in that regard in a very strange way.

On Tuesday afternoon, NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that “a representative for Jackson” who is not certified by the NFL Players Association has been reaching out to NFL teams across the league on his behalf.

Teams are not supposed to negotiate with agents or representatives that are not certified by the NFLPA. And as Florio points out, this is a similar situation to the one involving Saint Omni and Roquan Smith last year.

“Last year, the NFL specifically instructed teams not to negotiate with representatives not certified by the NFLPA, when Saint Omni was allegedly contacting teams on behalf of then-Bears linebacker Roquan Smith,” Florio wrote on Tuesday.

It’s certainly an odd situation all around, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

We’ll certainly have to see how this very weird and quite unique situation develops over the coming days and weeks.
