Tragedy has left the NFL community shattered this weekend. Former Louisiana State University wide receiver Kyren Lacy was found dead of apparent suicide over the weekend, amid multiple reports.
“BREAKING! LSU superstar Kyren Lacy allegedly took his own life last night according to sources from his neighborhood. He was previously considered a potential first-round pick in the NFL,” reported one prominent pop culture account on Twitter.
ESPN’s lead NFL insider Adam Schefter confirmed the tragic news.
“Former LSU receiver Kyren Lacy was found dead Saturday night in Houston, an LSU official confirmed today to ESPN.”
Williams was set to appear in court on Monday before a grand jury for his role in a hit-and-run car accident over the offseason. People reacted to the tragic news on social media.
“Great talent, unfortunate situations and circumstances that went too far. I drafted this guy in madden multiple times and he was always a stud. He would of made a great nfl lsu wr,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“i know he made a horrible, horrible mistake and he was held responsible as he should’ve been. however. i feel horrible that a young man has now lost his life because he thought death was the only option. check up on your people, mental health matters so deeply. RIP Kyren Lacy,” another person added.
