The Arizona Cardinals are counting on Kyler Murray to take the leap and become one of the top quarterbacks in the league this season to bring an end to the franchise’s playoff drought.
The Cardinals have the right pieces around Murray, with young wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. on offense and rookie cornerback Will Johnson looking impressive in his first start of his career.
Arizona defeated the New Orleans Saints 20-13 on Sunday in the season opener, and Murray played well enough, albeit without lighting up the box score. The Cardinals quarterback finished the game with 163 yards passing, two touchdowns, and no interceptions.
However, Murray revealed after the game that he was dealing with some extenuating circumstances.
“Cardinals QB Kyler Murray got the win Sunday… despite waking up at 4:30 AM and immediately rushing to the toilet. He took Imodium to calm his stomach before the game,” Jordan Schultz reported on Monday.
“It was bad,” Murray said of Sunday morning’s situation.
Fans reacted to Murray’s revelation on social media.
“Cam Jordan was sacking the s**t outta Kyler literally,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Dude ate some Taco Bell Saturday night. Whoops,” another fan joked.
Hopefully, this goes on to become a one-time incident for the Cardinals quarterback.
