Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray’s future with the team has been a big topic of discussion this NFL offseason.
Murray released a statement earlier this offseason that said the team needs to prioritize building around him, as well as paying him accordingly for what he has done for the team.
This has led to speculation that he may be traded at some point this offseason, with many believing that Murray could be unhappy with the current situation with the team.
Former Cardinals players Patrick Peterson and Chase Edmonds discussed their former quarterback and his situation with the team on the All Things Covered podcast on Thursday, where they said that the organization has not put Murray in a position to win.
They added that they don’t believe that he will stick around until the Cardinals surround him with more talent.
Despite their comments, if Murray’s recent activity on social media is any indication, he will remain with the Cardinals for a very long time.
Murray responded to Peterson and Edmonds’ comments on him, saying “I wanna win Super Bowls with the Cardinals, AZ is home.”
And that wasn’t the only media report Murray responded to Thursday. Fox Sports personality Colin Cowherd discussed the topic of Murray on The Herd, where he compared him to Aaron Rodgers, saying that he leans on his talent, has trust issues, and does his own thing.
Murray took exception to this, replying “Run whatever narratives y’all wanna run with… but questioning my work ethic, we’re not going for. Stop playin’ with me Colin. I still rock with you but cmon.”
Finally, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported on Thursday that Cardinals GM Steve Keim said that there is “zero chance” that Murray will be traded.
Murray responded to this with the “100” emoji, clearly showing that he is quite happy for the time being in Arizona.
This should help reduce the speculation for the time being surrounding Murray. By his own comments at least, he seems to want to be in Arizona for quite some time unless something drastic changes going forward.
