The Houston Texans made a big move at quarterback earlier this week, announcing that Kyle Allen would be the team’s starter in this week’s game against the Miami Dolphins, taking over for Davis Mills, who has served as the team’s starting quarterback for the first 11 games of the season.
The Texans undoubtedly hoped that the move would give the team a boost on the offensive side of the ball with Mills struggling most of the season. Unfortunately, for Houston, that’s not what happened. In fact, it took just over one quarter before Kyle Allen delivered what might be the most embarrassing interception of the year.
Early in the second quarter, Allen dropped back to pass and tried to hit running back Dameon Pierce out of the backfield. Unfortunately for him, the pass was nowhere close to the target. The ball flew well over the head of Pierce and right to Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Tindall.
It was one of the ugliest passes you’ll see all season, and the NFL world absolutely blasted Allen for it on Sunday.
To be fair, Mills struggled all season for the Texans, throwing for just 11 touchdowns to go with 11 interceptions and 2,144 passing yards. But at least he’s never done that!
