Earlier this month, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson revealed his list of who he believes are the five best quarterbacks in the NFL right now, and he made some headlines by excluding his own quarterback, Kirk Cousins. But it doesn’t sound like Cousins is too bothered by the omission.
During a recent radio interview with KFAN, Kirk Cousins was asked about the list from Justin Jefferson and he seemed to excuse the omission, making it clear that he doesn’t fault his wide receiver for being honest.
“I didn’t even see it. This is the first time hearing about it,” Cousins said on the radio appearance according to SI.com. “As a competitor, yeah, you always want that. People have to be honest and share what they think and I’m not going to tell somebody what they need to think and hopefully in 2024 I’ll be on his list. We’ll see what we can do this year.”
For the record, Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen rounded out Jefferson’s top five NFL quarterbacks, in that order. It’s hard to fault him for picking those five quarterbacks, and it’s pretty clear that Cousins feels that way as well.
